A major onshore company in Qatar faced a challenge while preparing for an oil upgrade in its compressors. Oil analysis revealed MPC levels above 50 and oxidation deposits, threatening to contaminate the new oil and cause costly downtime.
To prevent this, Fluitec deployed its ESP (Electrophysical Separation Process) unit and added Boost VR three months prior to the scheduled oil change. Within just four days, MPC levels were cut in half and remained below 10 throughout the three-month period before the oil upgrade. Even two months after the oil change, MPC levels stayed under 10.
The intervention left the system varnish-free, ensured clean integration of the new oil, and delivered a remarkable ROI of 999%, while avoiding downtime.
Problem
A major onshore company began preparing their compressors for an oil upgrade when they noticed deposits in their system. Upon further analysis, it was discovered that the MPC levels were above 50. These deposits could potentially contaminate the new oil being placed into the system and cause some unexpected downtime.
Solution
Fluitec’s ESP (Electrophysical Separation Process) unit was placed on the reservoir of the compressor system and Boost VR was also added to aid in the removal of these deposits. This was done approximately 3 months prior to the scheduled oil change.
Results
- MPC values were reduced to half within 4 days
- MPC values were maintained under 10 during the 3 month period before the oil change
- 2 months after the oil change, the MPC levels remain below 10
- System is varnish free
