Pierre Vanderkelen
Pierre Vanderkelen serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Fluitec, where he leads the company’s mission to help industries operate more efficiently, sustainably, and responsibly. He can be described as a growth-oriented CEO transforming industrial friction—literal and figurative—into reliable, low-carbon performance. Pierre sharpened his engineering and project-finance skills at ENGIE on nuclear and renewable projects before joining Fluitec in 2009. After launching Fluitec’s Singapore and Australia hubs, he became CEO in 2017.
With a career dedicated to driving cleaner, smarter industrial performance, Pierre brings a rare blend of technical expertise, strategic insight, and human-centered leadership to Fluitec’s global team. Today under Pierre’s guidance, Fluitec has partnered with heavy-industry clients on every continent, sustained double-digit growth, and co-branded lubrication solutions worldwide with ExxonMobil. By extending oil life threefold in thousands of machines, Fluitec is on pace to avoid 100 kt of CO₂e and keep 20 million L of base oil out of disposal by 2030. A decade of asset-health data drives this strategy and research, showing that predictive maintenance and additive replenishment make heavy industry more circular.
More than a strategist, Pierre is a believer in people and purpose. He takes pride in empowering teams to think creatively, challenge convention, and build solutions that genuinely make a difference. Those who work with him often describe him as a thoughtful listener with a global outlook and an unshakable commitment to doing what’s right—for customers, communities, and the planet.
Outside of work, Pierre supports climate-tech breakthroughs as a board member of Waterman Ventures and stays active in YPO and IESE’s School of Founders. Belgian-born and trilingual (English, French, Dutch), he recharges by skiing, surfing, and exploring with his family. His curiosity and global mindset continue to shape not only how he leads, but how he envisions the future of sustainable industry.
